There are billions of searches being performed... however, among the millions of search results each day how do they find YOUR business?
In order to have a website truly work for you and enhance your brand it has to get traffic. In most cases you have to drive traffic to it by establishing a web presence.
Previously, the yellow pages and other directories were the only options. At that time they were effective. However, what got you noticed in the yellow pages? Was it the single-spaced black & white number listing? Not likely. The catchy telephone number? Maybe.
The strategies were varied but there were a couple of common themes: a multi-color or bigger listing and/or top positioning within the category. How many businesses were consequently named "AAAA company" or "123 company"?
It boiled down to a simple fact: the businesses at the top of the list or with the most presence received the most calls.
This has not changed even with the use of search engines. To be found by potential customers you need to have a presence where the traffic (people searching) exist and at the top of the search results.
